3. Idolatry.

“They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.” 

Isaiah 45:16, KJV

The easiest way to import shame is to become an idolater. The fastest growing religion in the world today is idolatry. Idolatry has crept into the Church surreptitiously. Wherever you find idolatry, you will see people who misbehave. It blindfolds them. Even after going to study at Harvard, people will still venture into primitive idolatry. Some pastors even throw away their pastoral call in order to become a local village chief while telling themselves a lie that God is in it. God can never be in it; the two structures are different. Study the Bible very well. If you are not ready to break away from baal, you will worship Jehovah in the altar of baal. If you are not ready to throw down the altars of your father’s house, then you are not a Gideon. Idolatry is very aggressive; you cannot deal with it with kid’s gloves. It is very appealing to the carnal unregenerated man. The glamour associated with it can be irresistible and appeals to the carnal man. The Bible says, don’t be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. A young lady who frolics with an idolater or occultist thinking that she can convert him is deceiving herself. The man will follow her to Church only during courtship, immediately after they get married, he will issue rules restricting even her going to Church. It is only the Holy Spirit that can convert people. Do you have what it takes to convert people? The very moment you stop walking in complete obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit, he will depart. Heaven does not back up the unrighteous to do the will of the devil. God will never endorse anything that is out of sync with his revealed will as enunciated in his word. How can someone be telling you something that is outside the revealed will of God and still claim that God is leading him? Sometimes, this even extends to prophecies in the Church. Such prophecies can never be from the Holy Spirit.

The beautiful thing about the wisdom of God is that it enables you to see the end from the beginning unless you decide to close your eyes. There is nothing the devil is involved in that will end well. The Church must understand this. We are not apologetic about these things. The Christian platform is not meant to be a political platform where you tell people what they want to hear so that they can continue to attend the Church. The bride’s message which is the message of the kingdom is not a cheap message. The only cheap message is the message of ‘give me your gold and I will make you a god’. That message is from Babylon. That is why today you can find primitive idolatry in the Sanctum Sanctorum of worship in big cathedrals. Anything that is not the pattern of the word of God cannot be the blueprint from heaven. If you follow it, don’t be surprised of where you will end up. Whenever I look at the Church, I keep seeing missed opportunities to evangelize. You must destroy idolatry. Anything tainted with it cannot please God. Wherever you find idolatry, you will find witchcraft, paradoxes, curses and waste. Idolatry attracts generational curse; it has a trickledown effect. Nothing blocks the heavens and waste resources like idolatry. The spirit of idolatry is a very wicked spirit. Fix idolatry and you will fix corruption, you will fix greed and stealing.

Pray –

• Lord, deliver me from the contaminations of idolatry. Free me by the blood of Jesus Christ. I declare that you are the only living God. Only you will I worship, only you will I serve.
