SUNDAY SERVICE

GOLDEN KEYS FOR OVERCOMING YOUR ADVERSARIES I

This season, more than ever before, we need to take our walk with God very seriously. We have entered the season that the Bible states very clearly that those who deal wickedly against God’s covenant shall be corrupted with flatteries. But those that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits (Dan. 11:32). We can identify two classes of people here; those who will do exploits and those that will be exploited. You must take a decision. I pray that you will be part and parcel of those that will do exploits in the mighty name of Jesus.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accompanied in your brethren that are in the world.”
1 Peter 5:8-9, KJV

Golden keys unlock doors which no man can shut. That was the weapon Solomon used and he became the wisest and richest man in his time. Remember that wisdom is not in accumulation of knowledge; true wisdom is the right application of knowledge for one’s personal benefit and for the benefit of others. You may have accumulation of academic knowledge and certifications which you are not able to apply.

I have come across a lot of people who are knowledgeable but not wise. I pray that you will receive the spirit of wisdom that will enable you apply and affect your personal life in line with the purposive will of God for your destiny in the name of Jesus and then be fruitful in your service to others. That is where the real beauty of wisdom lies. Your life will become impactful in the name of Jesus. Who is your adversary? The adversary is very well defined as the devil. The Bible tells us in John 10:10 that the devil is a thief,

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10, KJV

Why is he called the devil? Devil means the originator of evil, ‘diabolos’ – the diabolic one, the manufacturer of evil, the architect of evil. Anything that is evil originates from him. He is not only a thief but a killer and a destroyer. He is a devourer who is looking for whom to devour. He will not find you in the name of Jesus. You will be too powerful for him to touch in the mighty name of Jesus.
