RETURN TO THE ALMIGHTY 3A
There is no peace for anyone who has not found Jesus, no matter who or where that person is, something very serious is still lacking and as long as that thing is lacking, that person cannot find peace. You cannot buy peace with money. Some people believe that it is only when they have a lot of money that they can have peace. No! The richest people do not always have peace, many times, they are more miserable. Wealth does not guarantee peace of mind.
Money is not a factor in the peace equation. Some think that it is only when they relocate that they can find peace; you can be in a very peaceful environment and yet not find peace. You can be in a very unfriendly environment and be at peace or full of peace. You can be in a very turbulent situation, in the middle of a storm and yet have peace. Why? It is because the Prince of peace is in that storm. He is the master of the storm. When a raging storm arose on the sea of Galilee, the disciples of Jesus who were in a boat were rattled. Meanwhile the master of peace was asleep. They woke him up saying, master, don’t you care? Jesus rebuked the wind, “Peace, be still” and the storm ceased (Mark 4:39).
What guarantees peace? Your connection to God; it is your relationship with the Prince of peace that brings peace. When Jesus was leaving, he left us with peace,
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”John 14:27, KJV
Anyone who misses Jesus has missed peace. Give that person the whole world, yet, he will still be looking for peace. We, children of God, should know what we have and treasure it, recognize and celebrate it and consolidate on it. The world cannot give you what you are looking for. The world does not have what it takes to give it; it doesn’t have it and so cannot give it. How do children of God lose their peace? It is in trying to be like the world. You can have it but if you don’t recognize and celebrate it, you will chase other things and then it will take a walk.
Anytime I look at this, I tremble. How is it that it is people who don’t have anything to celebrate that celebrate the most? These are people at the other side. They are so boisterous about what their gods, which cannot save, is doing to the extent that those who have the real thing sometimes become envious of them. Some even desire to want to test and see. That special blessing that God has given you, the devil did not give it, the devil cannot give it, the devil cannot take it away from you. Celebrate the peace of God in your heart. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the Prince of peace. He is the master of that storm in that situation, whatever you are going through. That unsatisfactoriness of things, Jesus is the Lord of it. All he needs to say is, “peace, be still” and there will be quietness all around you.
