RETURN TO THE ALMIGHTY 4E
Verse 23b says, “Thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles”. Iniquity is turning away from the light, turning away from the will of God. Sin is a generic term which means missing God’s mark. God is holy. God is righteous. God is absolutely wise. So if you miss his mark, it is sin. Iniquity means turning away from light. Until you turn away from the light, you will not miss the mark. Iniquity is very easy to commit, it is actually the beginning of every sin.
Any time you turn away from the will of God to start doing the will of man, you have committed iniquity. It is the prescription for anarchy. The world is the way it is today because man has consistently decided to run self government. Man has consistently made up his mind to do his own will. That is the language of the rebel. Man’s rebellion is what brought the world to the place where it is today, to the point of absurdity. Anything that is sinking has no limit, it is bottomless.
The best life you can live is the life that you live in Christ, that was why Jesus said, learn of me, for I am meek and lowly. Nobody wants the nature of the Lamb even in the Church; the Church is raising lions and eagles. You cannot produce one spiritual Christian through this theology. Wherever this theology is being propagated, you will find all the characteristics of Babylon there. Jesus said, “learn of me” (Matt. 11:29).
For the avoidance of doubt, Jesus went on to say I am meek and lowly. Meekness is not weakness, it is absolute power but under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Turn away from iniquity. A lot of people carry iniquity in their heart while praying for God’s blessing. Psa. 66:18 states very clearly, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me”. This is one of the reasons why despite fasting for about a hundred days, some people come out the same way, no change in their situation. God is not moved by your hunger strike, he is moved by your obedience. Stop the fast and start obeying God instead. The Bible says, obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Sam. 15:22). The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination before God (Prov. 15:8).
When you turn away from the revealed will of God, you will enter into dryness because the Bible says, the rebellious will dwell in dry places (Psa. 68:6).
Ponder on this – Is there any part of your life that is not aligned with the will of God? This is why people go to Church, climb the ecclesiastical ladder yet they have no fire, no power. Heaven is not moved when they call and so they employ marketing and motivational gimmicks. You can talk your way through, but heaven knows whose you are.
