SUNDAY SERVICE

RETURN TO THE ALMIGHTY 5C

Salvation is for “whosoever” according to John 3:16. It is not automatic, you must voluntarily align your will in receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord, in believing that he came, died and rose for you. Then you are qualified. However, you must take note that it is not a one off thing. You must continue to believe. The reason the first man fell is because he took God for granted. Ingratitude is the beginning of every sin, it is the beginning of the fall of man.

Pray –
  • Father, help me to fulfil the purpose for which you have called me. I celebrate the salvation package. Please do not allow me to miss your mark. Help me to walk with you.
  • Make me all you want me to be so that I can accomplish all you want me to accomplish in the mighty name of Jesus.

Your salvation is by grace. The greatest demonstration of the grace of God is the cross. The cross is the symbol of man’s will in union with the will of God. Receive the grace to make right decisions. Receive the grace not to take God for granted. Receive the grace to walk hand in hand with God so that his purpose may be fulfilled in every facet of your life. Receive the grace never to put the wrong foot forward. Receive the grace to be a true worshipper. Receive the grace to be a God chaser all your life in the mighty name of Jesus. Jesus succeeded, you will succeed. You will succeed to succeed in Jesus name.

All the benefits of returning to the almighty are as enumerated in our key scripture, Job 22:23-30. In Matt. 11:28-29, Jesus reiterated this. He said come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. He went further to say learn of me, for I am meek and lowly. Fallen man does not like this part. A lot of people who come to God are not meek because they fail to understand that meekness is not synonymous with weakness. They are still carrying the Adamic nature neither do they want to be lowly.

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Pride is a vertical sin, that is the reason why God hates it. Pride is idolatry of self – my own, my thing, myself. That was what brought down Lucifer. The ultimate of the five ‘I wills’ of Lucifer is “I will be like the most high” (Isa 14:14). In God’s kingdom, the way up is down and the way down is up. Meekness is one of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23).

Who are you? That is what determines where you will end. A lot of people are toying with eternity. Babylon has invaded the Church and captured a lot of God’s vessels. That is why there is need to return. Return to the almighty and he will build you up. When God builds you up, nobody can stop you.
