LIVING IN THE POWER OF THE RISEN LORD VIII

Three things that marked the ministry of Jesus CONT’D:

3. Jesus flowed out.
He was not like the Dead Sea. His life was impactful. He was the river of life that touched lives.

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” 

Acts 10:38, KJV

That is how to live in the power of the risen Lord. We are here to be an extension of what Jesus Christ left for us to do. The reason why we remain here after giving our lives to Christ is to be enforcers of righteousness, to be extensions of the healing hands of Jesus. Every true child of God should be a healing agent in a sick world you cannot be one if you are compromised. The prescription of Jesus for those who will represent him is

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” 

Luke 9:23-24, KJV

The first prescription is self-denial. Everyone today wants to appropriate things to self, myself, my own. Jesus said that is the first thing you should drop. Secondly, take up the cross daily. That is not glamorous. The cross is a place of crucifixion but until your life becomes a seed it will not produce a harvest. Unless a corn of wheat dies it abides alone (John 12:24). Who is a disciple? A disciple is a disciplined follower of the mentor; a protégée who is a disciplined follower of the mentor. Take up the cross; that is the symbol of dominion over sin, over self, over satan, over the world, over sickness, over disease, death, hell, poverty, scarcity, lack. The cross of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the symbol of comprehensive dominion over darkness.

“For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

1 Corinthians 1:22-25, KJV

Jesus is our role model; he succeeded, we will succeed.

We need to receive power to live above the wickedness in the environment, in the system, to live above doubt, to live above every agent of darkness, to walk in comprehensive dominion. We need divine empowerment to be above only and not beneath. We need supernatural empowerment by the power of the Holy Ghost. What is the power that resurrected Jesus Christ from the grave?

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” 

Romans 8:11, KJV

Quicken here means to empower you, to give you life. Death was the last joker that the devil unleashed against humanity. Jesus came to put an end to this.
