CONFRONTING THE AGENTS OF DEVALUATION IV
4. The good heart.
In the good heart, you will find meekness. Meekness is power that is consecrated to God. You have power which you are not using but have handed over to God. You are amenable to instructions. You celebrate the word of God; the word of God is for your good. There is no place for stubbornness. There is no place for argument. Lord, you said it, I believe it, that settles it – this should be your attitude. You have placed enough value in the word of God and you know that the word of God is good for you. Another characteristic of a good heart is humility. The way up in God’s kingdom is down and the way down is up. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). The easiest way to have an imperfect heart is to be proud and it is so easy. Pride is nothing but idolatry of self. It is those who don’t know God that think that there is something before him. The closer you come to God, the more broken you become. You will learn to tremble at his word. You will submit to his will. You will submit to his almightiness. You will submit to his sovereignty. Of all things created, it is only man that resists the word of God aside from satan and his angels. The greatest agent of devaluation is an imperfect heart. Your reaction to the word of God determines your heart condition. If the word of God has spoken, you must not have an opinion. Nobody can help you if you think that you are wiser than God. If you cannot receive the instructions of wisdom, then you are headed in the wrong direction. Little man with his intellect thinks that he can fathom the things that exist in the realm of divinity.
Your reception to the word of God determines your heart condition. The greatest spiritual blockade is iniquity in the heart. Psa. 66:18 says If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. This is very important. People carry iniquity in their heart and move from meeting to meeting looking for a miracle. Will it happen? The only miracle that can happen to someone with iniquity in the heart must be magic, a fake miracle. That is why when they go to where fake miracles happen, they are not told to repent from their sins. God cannot answer the prayer of anyone with iniquity in the heart. The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination before God (Prov. 15:8). Matt. 5:23-24 says if you are about to give an offering and remember that someone has an issue against you, you must leave that offering and go and make peace first before giving the offering. This message is no longer being preached because the Churches need the money. The vilest agent of devaluation is imperfect heart.
