”Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3 KJV)
God desires to commune with His children. One of the numerous blessings of redemption is access to all covenant blessings and priviledges:
Prayer is communication with God backed by faith and expectations. It is a sign of our dependence on God, a measure of our spiritual growth and therefore a measure of our relationship with God. Prayer enables God to display His Grace towards His people. It enables us to seek God’s hand. When we pray, we knock the Gate of Heaven. God is always willing to answer our prayers because we are His children, redeemed, cleansed by the precious blood of His dear Son Jesus Christ. Prayer is highly useful for Divine- connection. Jesus is our advocate and mediator:
”Seeing then that we have a great highly priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:4-16 KJV)
Prayer is one of the potent agents of sanctification. It enables us detach from the distractions in the world, to focus on our Heavenly Father. Pray according to God’s will as revealed in the scripture for:
Legitimate needs, truth, wisdom, understanding, the sick, national – leaders, servants of God, self, etc.
