WORD FOR TODAY

PRAISE

”Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. O thou that hearest prayer unto thee shall all flesh come.” (Psalm 65:1-2 KJV)

Praise is the act of making positive statements about a person or an object. In this context, it is a passionate exaltation of God for His goodness, faithfulness and blessings. The easiest way to get out of depression is to learn to praise God. Praise drives away the spirit of heaviness. Praise is a gate-pass to heaven. According to Psalm 50:23 (KJV) anyone that offers praise glorifies God. Praise celebrates God; and whatever you celebrate is what you attract. Praise is a mountain -mover. When you pray, God sends an angel, but when you praise, God comes down; and when He touches the mountain, it will melt. God inhabits the praise of His people. Praise has been said to be the highest form of prayer. By magnifying God, praise demystifies any challenge.

David was one man who understood and applied the weapon of praise. He praised more than he prayed. No wonder, inspite of the numerous battles he fought, he lost none. Apostle Paul and Silas in the dark, murky Macedonia prison, unleashed the weapon of praise. Their chains were broken by an earthquake that shook the foundation of the prison. This miracle led to the salvation of the jailer and his family.

At Holy Ghost Fellowship, we have witnessed several incredible miracles as a result of intense praise. During prayer and praise we declare that we love God and celebrate His goodness, faithfulness, kindness, greatness and majesty.
