WORD FOR TODAY

THE GOOD FIGHT

”Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, where unto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses” (1Timothy 6:12 KJV)

”For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.

(for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds)”.

Since our warfare is spiritual, it pays to stoutly refuse any temptation to be drawn into carnal wars. Every civil war is a needless war. The only person that is glorified in a carnal contest is the devil.

It is important to note that what makes the weapons of our warfare potent is the quality of our connection to the Almighty God. Like the psalmist, you can say:

”Thou art my king, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

Through thee will we push down our enemies; through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me”. (Psalm 44:4-6 KJV)

If you connect to God through Jesus Christ, you can smile at any storm. Victory is sure. Your season of struggle can be shortened by :

1. Your Speaking

When God wanted the present to end and the future to begin, He spoke. Your confession goes before your possession. Faith – confession is explosive. Practice it (Prov.18:21)

2. Your Singing

Singing creates a climate satan cannot tolerate. Songs of praise and worship dispel demonic spirits as Saul discovered when David played the harp (1Sam 16:23)

3. Your Sharing

Prayer of agreement with others is extremely powerful. (Matthew 18:18-19)

4. Your Seed-Sowing

Sowing creates a partnership with God that involves Him in your adversity. (Malachi 3:10-11)

5.  Your complete obedience

Your miracle is hidden behind the door of obedience.

”The beautiful thing about the good fight” is that we are not fighting for victory. We are fighting from victory. The commander of the armies of heaven is our leader. In heaven He won the battle, on the cross He won the battle, in the grave He won the battle, Jesus Christ the man of war, celebrate Him!

Sing:

I am on the LORD’S side

I will never give up

I am an overcomer

For the LORD GOD is on my side.

P R A Y E R

You are my king O LORD, command victories (with respect to enumerate the battles) for me in Jesus Name. I confess that through you I am more than a conqueror. Thank you so much Lord Jesus. Amen

D E C L A R A T I O N

May the LORD intervene in every facet of your life, and transform your season of struggle to a season of sweatless victories, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
