DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART X) STRANDED IN A DUSTY LAND

4. They lived a victorious life over the devil. Why will they not? There is nothing the devil fears like a consecrated worshipper. If you want the devil to tremble when you appear, then, become a consecrated worshipper, walking in the centre of God’s will, walking in holiness and fulfilling his purpose. While they were here physically, they were connected to heaven maximally.

5. They were not earthbound. Nothing down here tied them down. Their eyes were not fixed on any earthly possession. They were not money chasers neither were they into cargo piling. They were laying treasure where it matters most: heaven. For them, death was only a passage to life in eternity; it is good night, earth and good morning, heaven.

6. Death and grave had no power over them. Apostle Paul came to a point where he said “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain”. The reason why many people will not fly is because they are not prepared. Nobody boards an aircraft by chance. The messages that are coming from pulpits are too earth bound, some people no longer believe that there is heaven. It will be business as usual in many big cathedrals if the rapture happens on a Sunday morning. Easy believism has made many Christians to be docile about things that really matter much.

When a true child of God passes on, there should be no doubt as to where he has gone. One thing is certain. Every one that is born of a woman will one day die but the question is ‘where will you spend eternity?’ the Apostles, as a result of the things enumerated above, could say “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” 1 Cor. 15:55. Dominion over death is possible through Christ; dominion over the grave is through the finished work of Christ on the cross. Dominion is not by the lion but by the blood of the Lamb. The blood of lion has no redemptive value; it has no sacrificial value.

Christ has delivered us from the fear of death. Heb. 2:15 “And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”. Christ expects us to be ready for our flight to eternity. In the word of Amos 4:12 “prepare to meet thy God”. Rom. 13:10-14 says, “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lust thereof”. This is very instructive indeed. It is a summary of this message. It is a very simple but direct instruction that if you follow, you will not miss the greatest flight that is about to take place. May you not miss it in Jesus name. If there is any adjustment that you need to make in your life, please do so immediately.
