4. Baptism by Fire.
Exo. 34-38, “Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.” The children of God were led by the cloud by day and fire by night. You need the manifest presence of God if you want to be successful in the wilderness. Many believers stop at Holy Ghost baptism alone. Jesus is the baptizer in Holy Ghost and fire. There are two baptisms that we get from Jesus; Holy Ghost baptism and baptism by fire. We need the two. The baptism by fire is the one that keeps the wild beasts away. You are about to confront wild beasts, so, you need fire. The only language wild beasts understand is fire; it keeps them away. That was why the children of Israel moved only when the fire moved in the night and moved when the cloud moved in the day. You need the comfort of the Holy Ghost because the wilderness is a harsh place. It is a place of wild beasts; you need the cloud and the fire to keep the wild beasts away so that you can operate at maximum anointing for safety. The glory cover is the greatest cover anyone can have. Isa. 4:4-6, “When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud of smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from the storm and from rain.” The Holy Spirit is the spirit of burning. You need protection in the wilderness. Without the glory cover, you are vulnerable to wild beasts.

Pray –

  • Lord, baptize me by fire. Baptize me by Holy Ghost. I need the fire of your presence to navigate successfully in this wilderness. I ask that you protect me to the utmost with your glory.
  • Let your divine cover of glory be a tabernacle over me as I go out and as I come in and in all that I do. Tabernacle over me your glory; let it be a defence for me in the day and in the night.
  • Everywhere I operate, fence the wild beast away and grant me comprehensive dominion in Jesus name I pray.
