DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART XXI) THE GOD OF ELIJAH

CONTINUED . . .

  • He is also the God of Joseph. Gen 39:1-6 “And Joseph was brought down to Egypt and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass … And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured”. The signature of God was upon Joseph. It doesn’t matter if they take you down to Egypt, as long as the Lord is with you, you are going to reign in the land of your captivity; you are going to be highly favoured and blessed. Because of the presence of God that is with you, there will be transformation in the spirit realm and favour will follow you anywhere you go. When others are crawling, you will be catapulted to the top because the God of favour is the most high, you will not crawl, you will operate in the highest because your connection is in the highest. And you don’t need to bend, or bow or compromise because as long as you are truly connected to God and you worship him in spirit and in truth, he will put his signature upon you; the signature of favour and of open heavens. The circumstances around you might send you into slavery but I want to tell you that there is not enough concrete wall to imprison a person who is connected to the most high. You are coming out of that pit where they put you to become the Prime Minister. A time comes in the life of a person when the destiny of nations is determined by that person’s singular decision. The greatest challenge preachers have today is not just preaching but failure to raise consecrated worshippers, people who are ready to forsake every other thing and put one hundred percent value on their relationship with God. Such a time came in the life of Joseph when the destiny of nations depended on his singular decision. Potiphar’s wife created an enabling environment for Joseph to commit sin with her, she was of course the princess, very pretty, she used everything she had to seduce Joseph. But Joseph said, “how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? That was the decision that not only preserved him, although, it landed him in prison, but that was for a purpose, it was for a reason and for a season. Rom. 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. Joseph said ‘No’ to every appearance of evil, he said I cannot do this and he ran but the woman tore his shirt in the process. She dramatized the situation enough to infuriate her husband. So many people are in the prison today for offences they never committed. If they make the right connection with the God of Joseph, even in that prison, he will take them to the presidency and eventually those who put them there will come to worship this God. A time is coming if you continue to walk with this God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph, all those that oppressed you or wrote you off or vowed that you will not amount to anything in life will come to prostrate before you because their survival will be dependent on your mercy. When that time comes, God will grant you the grace to forgive them and tell them exactly what Joseph told his brethren – what you meant for evil God has turned around for good. That is the God we are serving.
