DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART XXI) THE GOD OF ELIJAH

• He is also the God of Elisha. 2 Kgs. 6:1-23. Elisha was a faithful follower of Elijah and he desired this God of Elijah, he desired what Elijah had, he asked for and got a double portion of Elijah’s anointing. Elijah performed sixteen major miracles while Elisha performed thirty-one because the last one occurred after his burial. One day some people carried a corpse for burial and as they were going, they spotted a Syrian band marching towards them so they quickly threw the corpse into the tomb of Elisha. Immediately this corpse came in contact with the bones of Elisha, he jumped up and started running with the people that brought him to make it thirty-two miracles. You can get so connected to this God that even your bone will begin to be a point of contact for great miracles to happen.
• He is the God of Daniel. Study Dan. 1:11-20, 2:19-23, 3:13-30, 6:10-28. Daniel was very successful and full of exploits. What was it that Daniel had? The secret of Daniel is found in Dan. 1:8 “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself”. Daniel took a quality decision to be a consecrated worshipper. He took a decision and God took note of it. Daniel reigned in the land of his captivity. No king reigned in the time of Daniel without him and he never lobbied, he voted for God. None of these kings could operate without him. They all knew that he had the Holy Spirit inside of him. That was what separated him from others. I believe that the Church will do well raising more Daniels today than just pushing people into politics without preparing them. You must be a person who is first and foremost deeply connected to God so that he can guide you in all your undertakings and your first vote must be the one that you cast for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. That is what will connect you to every exploit that you are going to do in God’s kingdom and as you do, the Lord’s name will be magnified in your life.
• He is the God of Paul and Silas. Acts 16:22-34. He is the father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He is the God who can send his angels to break every shackle and set the captives free and bring a turnaround in a very difficult situation.

Every cage, every padlock, every blockade will dissolve and disappear in the mighty name of Jesus and you will escape and do exploits. From generation to generation, he is the same. He is the same God who moved mightily through the heroes and heroines of faith and that God can move through you to do even greater exploits if you know him and put your trust in him, in the name of Jesus.
