THE DECISIVE QUESTION

What is a Decisive question?

It is a question that ultimately determines the outcome of an event.

‘For the decisive question is whether they obey my father in heaven’. Matthew 7:21 -24 (TLB) ”Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to me as ‘Lord’, but still won’t get to heaven. For the decisive question is whether they obey my father in heaven. At the judgement many will tell m, Lord, Lord, we told others about you and used your name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles.’ But I will reply, ‘You have never been mine. Go away for your deeds are evil.’ ”All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise like a man who builds his house on solid rock..”

What determines whether one makes heaven or not is obedience. It does not make sense to go to church and not be ready to obey the word of God. It does not depend on the size of the crowd in a cathedral. The decisive question is how many people in that cathedral are obedient to our heavenly father? They are the ones that will make heaven. Before now I always thought that the only thing that differentiates a fool from a wise person is what you say concerning the existence of God. Another thing that differentiate a fool from a wise person is your attitude to instruction. How do you react to instructions? Are you disobedient to even instructions that are meant to help you? Do you rebel against instructions? Before anybody disobeys an instruction, the person must have belittled the instructor. Disobedience has very terrible consequences. The instructions you obey determines the future you create. The instructions you obey determines your destination. These instructions are the word of God.

According to John 14:23-24 (TLB) Jesus will only reveal himself to those who love him and obey him. ” Because I will only reveal myself to those who love me. The Father will love them too, and we will come to them and live with them. Anyone who doesn’t obey me doesn’t love me. And remember, I am not making up this answer to your question! it is the answer given by the Father who sent me.’’Obedience comes from two sources; the revealed will of God and the promptings of the HolySpirit.

Disobedience is a very serious matter, it can mean the difference between life and death.

Selective obedience is selective disobedience which is equally disobedience.

2 corinthians 10:3-6 (KJV) When your obedience is complete, heaven backs you up. When your obedience is complete, heaven makes the weapons of your warfare very potent. Obedience is a very active weapon of spiritual warfare. Obedience comes easy for one who truly loves God. Your attitude to the reveal will of God is what will determine your final destination. The spirit that you allow to lead you in this world is the spirit that will lead you home. Cultivate true fellowship with the HolyGhost. HolyGhost fellowship is not another denomination, it is a life style. It is partnership with the HolySpirit. The HolySpirit does not guide us outside the will of God. The leading of the HolySpirit will always be consistent with the revealed will of God. The HolySpirit cannot guide anybody who is working in rebellion. It is your responsibility to have a personal walk with the HolySpirit in line with the revealed will of God. It is your responsibility to search the scriptures, to make the word of God your direction finder in every aspect of your life.

Whatever you cannot release in order to do the will of God is your idol. If you want your world to be transformed this year, be complete in obedience. If you want to enjoy abundant life, be complete in obedience. If you want to get to the overflow dimension of the blessings of God, be complete in obedience. If you want Jesus to reveal himself to you, be complete in obedience. If you want to have a heavenly encounter that will gladden your heart, be complete in obedience. If you want the power of God to flow through you, be complete in obedience.

PRAYER

• Lord, please I stretch my hand to you, help me. Search my heart, you know me more than I know myself. You know every aspect of my life that I am still struggling to be complete in obedience, please lord I need your grace, I need your help, I need your empowerment. I want to be complete in obedience to your word, and to the leadings and promptings of the HolySpirit. Help me to be sensitive to the leadings and promptings of the HolySpirit. Help me to know your voice when you speak. Help me to work closely with you this year. Help me never to miss your mark with respect to obedience to your leadings, to your instruction. I am sorry in any way that I have ever disobeyed you. Help me Oh God, so that I will enjoy the supernatural blessings of obedience, in the name of Jesus. Amen
• Lord I want to fall in love with you, more than I love any other thing. Help me to love you more than I love anything else. Help me dear heavenly Father, let my obedience flow from love, in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, I ask you to reveal yourself to me, in a special way that will dissolve every doubt. You know the things I am struggling with, you know the areas I still have doubts. I ask you to reveal yourself to me in a special way. Make heaven more real to me than any earthly thing can ever be. Thank you Jesus, through you I shall do valiantly, Amen.
• Lord I ask you to help me to take the right steps that will help me to secure my home in heaven. May I make heaven at last. Help me to succeed indeed. Amen.
