CELEBRATING THE PRECIOUS HOLY SPIRIT (PART 3) THE WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER

He gives us inward assurance of salvation.

Rom. 8:15-16, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”

1 John 5:6, “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.” 1 John 5:8, “And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” That witness is very necessary. We have the spirit of adoption. We can call him Father. There are people who dare not call him Father. What a connection! What a privilege! That is why the devil hates man because he knows that what he wanted at all cost was what God gave man. But because man got it just like that, man didn’t place enough value on it.

The second part of what the Holy Spirit does for the believer are: –

• The Holy Spirit gives us empowerment for holy living. How does he do that?
• He guides us into truth. John 16:13, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. If you want to know if someone has the Holy Spirit, check the person’s truth size. There are people who cannot do without lying, in fact, the moment they open their mouth, what comes out is a lie! The simple liberation you need starts from truth in the inward part and not just family liberation. This is because deliverance is not an event. The best weapon of spiritual warfare is the one that has become your lifestyle. There is nobody the devil dreads like a consecrated worshipper.

P R A Y: -Precious Holy Spirit, I thank you for indwelling me. I celebrate your presence in my life.

Make me a worthy ambassador of Jesus Christ. Grant me the grace to be truthful in all my dealings. Graciously transform me to be a consecrated worshipper of the Living God in Spirit and truth. Keep me as the apple of God’s eye and guide me until I become all you want me to be and accomplish all you want me to do in God’s kingdom in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
