DEALING WITH SPIRITUAL CORONA VIRUS I

TEXT: Zechariah 13:1-3 (TLB)
“At that time a Fountain will be opened to the people of Israel and Jerusalem, a Fountain to cleanse them from all their sins and defilement. And the Lord Almighty declares, In that day I will get rid of every vestige of idol worship throughout the land, so that even the names of the idols will be forgotten. All false prophets and fortune-tellers will be wiped out and if anyone begins false prophecy again……”

The corona virus ravaging the world today is a plague. Behind every tragedy, there is a cause. For every action, there is a reaction. As it is in the physical so it is in the spiritual. Just as we have physical corona virus, there is also the spiritual corona virus. Its mission is to steal, to kill and to destroy. One of the things this wicked spirit specializes in doing is closing shops aside from dragging down. Why does it drag down? Because it is from the pit of hell!

The rate of contagion is alarming. Just boarding a plane with a carrier of the virus predisposes you. That is exactly how it works in the realm of the spirit. Make contact with a person carrying a wrong spirit, your life starts going down. 

One of the easiest ways to contact the spiritual corona is by patronizing a false prophet. One of the things that pollutes the land is idolatry. Idolatry is spiritual corona virus. It not only pollutes, it drags down, contaminates and destroys. 

God has however opened a fountain for cleansing for us in Zech. 13:1-3. This fountain will remove sin, perversion and distortion. God wants to deal with the root cause. He said he will cut off the names of the idols. If your name has anything to do with any idol, please change it without wasting time.  

God said he will cut off the false prophets and the unclean spirit. Many prophecies emanate from unclean spirits in spite of the fact that they may be correct. What the damsel with the spirit of divination that followed Paul and the other apostles for days said were very correct Acts 16:16-18. If the spirit is unclean, you are leaving the place unclean. You need to cut off. There are things you need to quarantine for your life to move forward. One of such is idolatry, another is consulting false prophets.  Take note that whenever you consult a false prophet you are tying your life to an evil altar. 

PRAY 
• Repentance – Confess your sins and ask God for mercy. Ask him to blot out all your transgressions and every perversion. 

• Ask him to show you the things you need to quarantine so that your life can move forward. 

• Lord, I soak my life, spirit, soul and body in the blood of Jesus. I  enter into the fountain that you opened for me and I receive cleansing from sin and uncleanness. 

• Lord, in any way that I have been contaminated through wrong association, I am sorry. Please forgive me. 

• Today in the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce every claim of idolatry over my life and separate my life through the blood of Jesus Christ from the contagion of idolatry.

• I break away from any idol. I break away from any evil association. I break away from any evil contact. I break away from any contrary altar in the name of Jesus. 

• I renounce association with any false prophet and any unclean spirit in the mighty name of Jesus. I overcome you by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony. 

• In the name of Jesus Christ,  I bind you unclean spirits. I cast you into the abyss, I destroy your works and terminate your operation in my life and in my family, as I go out and as I come in, in Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen!
