2. The key of passionate prayer. James 5:16, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (KJV). The Amplified Bible says, “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much (when put into action and made effective by God – it is dynamic and has tremendous power)”. Prayer should come more from the heart than from the lips. In Dan. 9:20-21, Daniel prayed a very powerful prayer that was able to unlock the mystery that he shared concerning the things that will happen in the end times.

Daniel was a very diligent spiritual technocrat and that was why God honoured him so much. He literally reigned in the land of his captivity. We can draw a lot of strength from Daniel; that you are in Babylon does not mean you should become a Babylonian. Daniel knew who he was and he knew the God he was serving and that was why he was strong in the Lord. He took valid decisions and steps. Why did he pray? Why did he declare a fast? Daniel was a man of books, he was a researcher. It was by going through the books that he realized that a prophecy was about to be fulfilled so he gave himself to prayer and fasting. The very first day that Daniel started the prayer, there was a release. But the prince of Persia blocked the angel that was sent to him.

A lot of blessings are hanging not because God has not released the answers but they have been intercepted by wicked princes. We must raise the blood of Jesus against them. In verse 20, you will notice that Daniel was speaking, praying and confessing and presenting supplication before the Lord, the heavens opened and a breakthrough came. Your heavens will open today as you pray, as you confess and make your supplication before the Lord. Take note that Daniel confessed not only his sins but the sins of his people. It is a very powerful weapon of corporate deliverance; it is called the weapon of ‘identificational repentance’. Sins that you did not commit but affect you in one way or the other. By virtue of where you come from or where you live, there are things that affect you. There are many things you need to throw away if you want the anointing of ten times better in all ramifications.

  • Take valid decisions – the little things you decide to drop and the little things you decide to add are the things that will separate you from the ordinary person. Pray like you have never prayed before. Don’t pray the way you prayed the previous year and expect things to be different this year. Daniel purposed in his heart. That discipline is very important. It is discipline that will make you not to eat what you are not supposed to eat or go to where you are not supposed to go. You are a king and you are a priest; kings and priests don’t eat anyhow. Things must change for the better. You must dethrone the evil forces that have held you down and do not want you to move forward. For 430 years, the children of Israel were subservient to the Egyptians. A time came when they cried to God and God heard their cry and sent a deliverer. May God hear your cry this year and send you help in the mighty name of Jesus

  • Present that issue or challenge before God right now; pray from your heart. In the place of prayer God listens more to the heart than the mouth. Cry out to God. He is unlimited in time and space. He loves you and has been waiting for you for a moment like this – a moment to confess and present your supplication before him.
  • Thank him for the answer. AMEN!
