BLESSED BEYOND CURSE 29A- THE HAND OF GOD

The hand of God represents the manifest presence of God; it is only in his presence that you have the fullness of joy. The presence of God will guarantee peace of mind and the joy that you cannot purchase with money, joy unspeakable, full of glory; joy that the world cannot give. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. There is the joy of salvation that you cannot quantify; it is indescribable if you have ever experienced it, there is no way you can adequately express it.

  • Micah 5:9 says, “Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.” The hand of God ensures that our enemies automatically become God’s enemies. It is just like being with your father and an enemy shows up to attack you, at that point, it is not your responsibility to fight, your father naturally takes over the battle and deals decisively with the enemy. That is exactly how it is with God. Once the hand of God is with you, anything that comes against you comes against the presence of God and that is why you cannot be defeated. The hand of God gives you victory after victories no matter where the battle is fought and your enemies become God’s enemies. Imagine all your enemies being cut off. Nobody can fight like God, you need to understand that he is Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord of hosts; host of heaven and host of hell. Every power is subject to his sovereignty, God is sovereign over all. With this knowledge, all you need to concentrate on is to ensure that the hand of God is strong in your life to give you victory after victories. That was one of the secrets of David, he fought so many wars and battles and he lost none. He spent most part of his life fighting wars. What was his secret? David was a man of God’s presence. He was so addicted to the presence of God to the extent that the hand of God was always with him to cut off his adversaries.

There are so many battles that we are fighting today which we ought not to fight if actually the hand of God is with us. If God is for us, then, who can be against us? Until you allow God to take over your battles, you will continue to move from one battle to another. The Bible says in 1 Sam 2:9 that by strength shall no man prevail. A lot of people have fought many battles and are battle weary, carrying bruises. You need the presence of the One who spoke the world into existence, the omnipotent God who can make the resources of heaven available to you, the One that controls the hosts of heaven and of hell. He is Jehovah Nissi, the God of Israel who knows no defeat. May his hand be stretched against all our adversaries to cut them off in the mighty name of Jesus. Take note, however, that our enemies are not flesh and blood, though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” 2 Cor 10:4-5.
