BLESSED BEYOND CURSE 34D- THE HAND OF GOD

In Acts 10:1-4, we see the manifestation of the hand of God moving as a result of giving and service in the life of a man named Cornelius. Take note of the spiritual curriculum vitae of Cornelius. “There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.” Your Christian service is not in vain; you are posting something to heaven. There is an account in heaven taking record of what you are sending; this realization should help you to re-order your priorities. A life that is not shared is barren. Don’t ask God to give you more if you are not sharing the little you have. I can tell you that anointing grows through service. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” Acts 10:38. If you want the power of God to increase in your life, get connected to Christian service; be addicted to kingdom service. Nothing is infra dig to be done in God’s kingdom even if it means cleaning the floor! What kingdom service are you rendering? Whose hand are you lifting? Whose life are you touching? What is your relevance in the kingdom? What have you been posting? Any river that does not flow out becomes a dead sea.

The greatest thing you can give is not money, make no mistake about that! Yes, Money is very central because it is a measure of value and that is why it is a very important weapon which you can put to effective use if God has blessed you financially and you have a right heart like Cornelius. Cornelius was devout; he feared God, he loved God. His giving was born out of reverential fear of God and so he was giving correctly and heaven was taking note. At the appropriate time, the hand of God moved in his direction to meet the need that only God could meet in his life. There was divine intervention and a miracle took place.

Until your giving becomes part of your lifestyle of service in God’s kingdom, it may not amount to much. Every investor looks forward to dividends. The best place to invest is in things that have eternal value. God takes record of your service. The law of seed, time and harvest is a universal law. Every act is a seed, your smile is a seed, your frown is a seed, your diligence in the study of God’s word is a seed; “seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” Prov. 22:29. Service is a seed. Any time we talk about the blood of Jesus, we are talking about the greatest sacrifice. Many Christians have become self centred. ‘Abraham’s blessings are mine, Abraham’s blessings are mine, I am blessed in the morning, afternoon and evening, Abraham’s blessings are mine’. That is very correct, but where did you sacrifice your Isaac? Today, if you assign some responsibilities to some people in the house of God, they feel that you have degraded or demeaned them. Every wise investor looks for an investment opportunity. The greatest window of investment in God’s kingdom is service and it is always there staring at you. Your prayer is a seed, your praise is a seed and when you combine all these, they form worship. Worship is not the music we play on Sunday morning. Worship is placement of value; an expression of faith based on the love you have for God and an appreciation of the love God has for you.
