4. The Knowledge of God will produce in you love for God (cont’d): Some people struggle to pay tithe, it never ceases to amaze me. You struggle to give God ten percent of your income and yet you expect him to give you his all? He has already given you his best. If you cannot give God one tenth of your money how can you give him your life? The reason why you are struggling to give is because you actually love money more than you love God. Jesus stated categorically that you cannot serve God and mammon. One of the scriptures such people use in justifying their disobedience is that Jesus cursed the Pharisees who paid tithe in Matthew 23:23 where Jesus said, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” What Jesus was actually saying is, you scribes and Pharisees major on minor issues while neglecting the weightier things of the law; you tithe even to the minutest detail. Jesus did not condemn tithing. What he meant was that you ought not neglect tithing while fulfilling the weightier things of the law. There is so much ignorance and that is why one needs to be very careful. The world is desperately sick! In my sojourn here on earth, the only thing I can trust is the word of God.

5. Knowledge of God will naturally make you a worshipper. You will become addicted to his presence.

6. Knowledge of God will make your faith strong. Psa. 125:1-2, “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.” Your trust in God will be consolidated.

7. You will be heavenly minded. This is because where you treasure is, there your heart will be. Knowledge of God will make you have the right perspective of God. The one from above is above all, the one that is connected to the most high will operate in the highest. You will be free from a lot of entanglements, you will not be earthbound. A lot of people are earthbound. May you not be stranded in a dusty land in the name of Jesus. The reason why people struggle for things down here on earth is because they have never scented heaven. Everything down here on earth can be likened to toys when compared with the things in heaven.

8. Acts 13:36, “For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption.” One of the blessings of knowing God is that the knowledge of God will make your life purposeful. This is the testimony of David; he served God in his generation according to the purpose of God. The revealed will of God is the word of God (the Bible). If you really know God, you will fall in love with his word. How can you spend the better part of the day feeding yourself with earthly food without feeding your spirit man? If you don’t study the word of God in a day and you are comfortable, something is terribly wrong. Watch out! How can you dispel the thick darkness that has covered the world? You need to carry the light; the word of God inside you is light. What is the antidote or vaccine for deception? Truth of course. Vaccinate yourself with the word of God and you will be immune to deception. That is the secret of raising godly children. Give them the word vaccine; if you don’t give them the word vaccine (word of God), they will take the world vaccine!

PRAY-
Heavenly Father I worship you. I ask you to fill me with Christ till the world no longer sees me but Jesus shining through me. Help me to be heavenly minded and grant me the grace to feast on your word on a daily basis in Jesus name. Amen.
