THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 1C

There are some biblical truths about the days just before the second coming of Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God who has not left us in the dark concerning his eternal plan.

SOME SALIENT BIBLICAL TRUTHS CONCERNING THE DAYS PRECEDING HIS SECOND COMING

Remember that truth is not what I say it is, truth is not what you or anyone thinks or says it is, truth is what the word of God says it is. The word of God is our direction finder. The word of God is our rock, the word of God is our promise and the ultimate authority. “Sanctify them through the truth: thy word is truth” John 17:17. If anyone tells you anything that cannot be substantiated in the word of God, take it with a pinch of salt. You can reject it outrightly. We need to do this often because we are in very delicate times. There is so much deception out there. The Bible did not leave us in doubt concerning the days preceding his coming; Jesus himself did not leave us in doubt. We must be like the men of Issachar who had understanding of the times and seasons. Anyone without an understanding of the times and seasons will be exploited. The Bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6A.

  1. It will be sudden like a thief in the night according to 2 Pet. 3:10, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” 1 Thes. 5:23, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body are preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. A thief in the night comes unannounced. He does not give you notice of his coming. Rev. 3:3, “Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.” This is the very word of Jesus Christ announcing his coming to the Church. If you know some areas of your life that need to be straightened out, please don’t hesitate, do so quickly. Be watchful and be vigilant because Jesus emphasized again that he is coming like a thief in the night. He is not going to give any notice of his coming. Rev. 16:15 reinforces this, “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”

    Pray –
    • Lord, help me to be watchful, help me to be vigilant and never to walk in shame. Help me not to be naked. Please cover my nakedness. In any way that I am leaking, in any way that I am not ready, in any way that I am not properly kitted; in any way, Lord, that I am defiled, please help me. Purify me, cleanse me, wash me with the precious blood that you shed on mount Calvary and make me never to be ashamed but Lord, keep me as the apple of your eye and help me to be ready in Jesus name.
    • Father, in the name of Jesus, make it impossible for the second coming of your Son Jesus Christ, to take me unawares in Jesus name.
