4. The saints will know the times and seasons (but nobody knows the exact day or the hour) CONT’D. 1 Thes. 5:2-8, “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”  We need to get to a point in our relationship with God where we will always consult him before getting involved in any business relationship. It is not every opportunity that emanates from God, some are satan’s trap. Any opportunity that is capable of drawing you away from the purpose of God for your life is not from God. May it never come your way in Jesus name. Some opportunities lead to leprosy. Gehazi was looking at the opportunity to make money; he felt that his mentor, Elisha, was stupid for not collecting the gifts offered to him by Naaman. He went behind his boss and collected part of the gift. However, he ended up collecting leprosy. It was when I said yes with my whole heart to follow God according to his leading that I started getting big business opportunities. God however granted me the grace to say ‘No’. May we learn to say ‘No’ to every appearance of evil. Israel is the fig tree referred to by Jesus. The prophecy concerning the nation of Israel was fulfilled in 1948 when the nation of Israel was birthed. If the coming of Jesus was near in 1948, think of how near it is now! The beauty of the word of God is that it is self fulfilling.

5. Many believers will not be prepared and as such will be left behind. Matt. 25:1-13, “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” Luke 12:31-48 and Luke 13:23-35 all emphasized this.

Pray –

  • Lord, may I not receive the verdict of “I know you not” from you in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, grant that no member of my family will receive this verdict in the mighty name of Jesus. Grant that no member of Holy Ghost Fellowship International will receive the verdict of “I know you not” in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you blessed Lord, in Jesus name.

What is Jesus’ prescription for this? If you don’t want to receive that verdict, Jesus was careful enough to give us the secret in verse 13, “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh”.
