THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST 2A- SIGNS OF THE TIME

Many people spend a lot of money in order to find joy but to no avail because they have not defined what they are looking for and you can never find what you have not defined. Joy is not outward in, it is something that is inward out. Joy is a function of your connection, it is function of the Holy Spirit. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. That is why if you don’t have the Holy Spirit, you can have the emotional feeling of relief, momentary exhilarations which is very transient. You can only find true joy in the presence of God; in his presence is fullness of joy and at this right hand pleasures for ever more. This revelation is very important. All over the world people are seeking for joy that is why some get into hard drugs because they believe that it will give them joy. Many years back, I had the erroneous impression that my joy will be full if only I could get to the USA. I did travel to the USA only to discover emptiness and not joy as I envisaged. Some people believe that they will be happy if they have more money. Some of the richest people are not necessarily the most joyful.

You can’t appreciate God for what you have not recognized and what you have not recognized cannot really bless you. David had many sons but only one recognized the excellent mentoring capability of his father. Solomon was the only one who recognized that his father was a fantastic mentor; he humbled himself and obeyed the instructions of his father to the letter. That saved him from fighting unnecessary battles and he became the wealthiest king. During his reign there was peace. You can leverage on the experience of your mentors to climb to higher levels but you need to first recognize their capabilities. If you don’t recognize my mentorship ability it will not bless you.

One of the reasons why people don’t recognize is because they have not had any encounter with Christ. If you have had an encounter, there will be fire in your bones that will drive you into the very presence of God and locate you at the centre of God’s purposive will for your destiny. You will no longer see the Bible as a historical book; it will become a life manual. Any day you fail to eat the word of God, you will be empty. That is the real life. Heaven will be so real to you than any earthly thing can ever be. That is where the Lord wants to take you. You should be excited about where you are going.

Pray –

• My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed and sanctified by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Satan, you have no part in me, no power over me, no unsettled claims against me. All has been settled by the precious blood of Jesus. I am free in Jesus name.
• Father help me to appreciate the fact that it is only in your presence that there can be fullness of joy and let your blessings overflow in my life in Jesus name, Amen.
