OPERATION 18:18

2020/2021 OPERATION 18-18 DAY 1A – (I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES)

Text: Psa. 121:1

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.”

The beautiful thing about the blessings of God is that they are progressive. The real blessings of God are eternal. Whatever God begins to do in your life will progress. That is why it is very important for us to understand the power of connection. A lot of people are cheated out of their blessings because they are not properly connected.

This Psalm is believed to be a Psalm of divine protection by many but it goes beyond that. It is more of a Psalm of divine connection. The power of connection is in this scripture is “I will”, I willfully, I decidedly make up my mind to look up in spite of all the distractions.

Dan. 9:3, “And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes”. Daniel decided. It takes a quality decision to look up. Everyone’s face is set in a particular direction. You are either looking up, looking down, looking left or looking right, you can even decide to look backwards – all you need do is turn your neck 180 degrees. In other words, you can turn your direction in about six different directions. What is the probability of someone not looking up, that is not looking in the right direction? It is 1 – 1/6 = 5/6. The percentge of this probability is 83.33%. This is how easy it is to look in the wrong direction. Anytime you are looking in the right direction, you must not take it for granted. I have come to realize that when people come to a point where they need to choose between two things, they are almost always likely to miss it. If you are not always making the right choices, the implication is that you are not properly aligned which means you are misaligned.

‘Decision’ is the most important word I have come across.  It takes decision to follow Christ. Decisions determine your health. Decisions determine your wealth. Decisions define your destination. If you have to choose between two things and most likely to choose wrong, what happens when you have to choose between six? This is the reason why many people are chasing shadows. Show me the direction you are facing and I will tell you the direction you will end. Many people are like the office pin pointed in one direction and headed in the opposite direction. They want to go to heaven but they are headed in the wrong direction; every decision they take is a decision that will take them down and not up.

The Psalmist came to a point where he said “I will lift up my eyes”, I will look up. That is wisdom. Daniel came to a point where he said I will set my face to seek the Lord in prayer, in fasting and in sackcloth and in ashes. Daniel took a quality decision that produced eternal benefits.

Pray –

  • Lord, help me to always take the right decision that will produce eternal benefits in my life in the name of Jesus.
  • Grant me the ability to choose right and never to misalign in the name of Jesus. Amen.
