2020/2021 OPERATION 18-18 DAY 1D – (I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES)

1 Pet. 1:3-5, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” As long as you are connected, the hand of God will keep you. The hand of God will sustain, protect, promote, lift, bless and fight for you. The hand of God will ensure that you do not miss the mark, but you have to lift up your eyes. People who make wrong connections end up cheating themselves. If you are not properly connected to heaven, you are bound to say the wrong things. Partial connection is the greatest problem of most Church goers. Ensure that you connect properly to heaven so that God can entrust you with real riches.

Even in the face of severest persecution, Stephen looked up and saw the glory of God. You will receive from where your focus is. Where your focus is determines what you will see. Acts 7:55-60, “But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, and cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Stephen said the right thing because he was properly connected. If Stephen had decided to be vengeful, he would have called down fire to consume his attackers. Instead, Stephen prayed the right prayer. This prayer kept Saul alive and he was eventually converted. When people don’t have the right perspective, they chase shadows and say wrong things.

Every passing moment brings us closer and closer to eternity. We need to keep eternity in view. Anyone who is not looking up is not looking in the right direction. Anyone who is not looking up is looking in the wrong direction. Back in the days, a pertinent question we used to ask is, ‘where will you spend eternity? Where is your inheritance?’ My dearly beloved, the best time to lift up your eyes is now as the year expires. Remember that it is not just the year that is expiring, this age is expiring as well. Things are happening very fast. The stage is set and there is nothing left. Jesus can come any moment from now. Prophecies are fulfilling very fast. Dan. 12:4, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

Pray

Worship God. Ask Him to help you to always make heaven your focus all the days of your life.
