WISDOM KEYS FOR PERENNIAL FRUITFULNESS 4E

Wisdom Keys (contd.)

11. The golden key of thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving makes you fruitful. How? Thanksgiving ensures that you remain connected to God. Thanksgiving makes the presence of God real. Thanksgiving brings increase according to Psa. 67:5-7, “Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.” That was the principle that Jesus put to use when there was scarcity of food – only two loaves of bread and five fishes. He gave thanks and there was multiplication. Thanksgiving is one of the ways to superimpose the supernatural on the natural. Jesus applied this principle again when his friend Lazarus died. When Jesus got to the tomb of Lazarus (a stinking situation), he gave thanks, “Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. Thanksgiving is one of the secrets of releasing the supernatural. Please intensify thanksgiving. Heaven opens to those who know how to thank God easily. It is one of the keys for unlocking the supernatural very cheaply. Conversely, not thanking God brings curse according to Mal. 2:2, “If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.” Ingratitude is the beginning of every sin. Adam was not a worshipper and as such, he took God for granted. There was never a time that he thanked God; everything he needed was put in place but he never deemed it fit to thank God. The worst people to interact with are those who are unthankful; they are always looking for whom to blame for their woes. They don’t ever take responsibility for their mistakes. Such people have entitlement mentality. They are the worst people to pastor. They keep scoring own goals repeatedly and their lives never get better. Psa. 92:1 says, “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name. O most High.” Make up your mind to thank God more than you have ever done since you gave your life to Christ. As you do this, God will begin to show you things which you take for granted and consider little which are actually not little at all. Before long, your prayer requests will be converted to thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of the secrets of sweatless victories. It is easier to say ‘thank you’. Your tank can never run dry if you become thankful.
