Sunday service

All said and done, it is your one on one relationship with God that will see you through. It is not a crowd thing. Start having a personal walk with God, ensure that you consolidate it. Begin to have quiet time with God and build up the relationship. What kind of relationship do you have with your heavenly Father? Your connection with God is very important because that is what will drive your decisions in the right direction. My connection with my heavenly is what restraints me from sinning.

Matt. 3:11 says, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with Holy Ghost, and with fire.” There are two types of baptism mentioned here. A lot of people only know about Holy Ghost baptism with evidence of speaking in tongues.

Act 2:1-3, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.” The apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit and they began to speak in tongues. Here we can see two levels of baptisms – they were baptized in the Holy Ghost and they were baptized by fire. We need this powerful combination. If you remove these from a Church, that Church ceases to be a Church but a social gathering with no power at all. When the disciples of Jesus asked him whether he was going to restore the kingdom of Israel, he told them that was not the issue, but that they should tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high. Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” It takes a burning fire of the Holy Spirit in your bones for you to be a true witness of Jesus.

Pray –

  • Everlasting and most merciful Father I worship you. I thank you for your greatest gift to mankind, your son – Jesus Christ. I proclaim that through his death, burial and resurrection all my sins are forgiven. I ask you to draw me into a closer fellowship with the precious Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen.
