VICTORY IN THE WILDERNESS 2B

Exousia is delegated power and that is authority derived from Jesus himself, derived from God and that is why we can command a witch to bow. If you don’t command the agents of darkness to bow in the wilderness, they will come to feast. That is why you should not keep silent. It is dangerous to keep silent in the wilderness, however, you should be very careful of what you say. We are not called to make careless statements; we are called to be people who confess the word so that we can release the sword of the spirit. The word of God is able to transform things in the right direction. The word of God will not leave you outside the will of God.

One of the things that anyone who wants to have victory in the wilderness must have in abundance is the word of God. Without the word of God, you cannot succeed in the wilderness. Be filled with the word of God. Eat the word of God to overflow dimensions and allow the word to direct you and be your compass in the wilderness. Be a diligent user of the word of God and be able to release the word at the right time.

In Luke 4:1-13 when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, he used the word of God. Everywhere the devil tempted him he replied with “it is written”. If Jesus didn’t know what was written, how would he have been able to surmount the devil? Meditating on the word of God should be habitual for every believer. Re-order your priorities and inculcate quiet time into your daily routine. If you want to have comprehensive success, there is no short cut, the word of God should be your direction finder. Psa. 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” When the tempter comes and discovers that you don’t have enough of the word of God, he will have a field day; he might even dribble and confuse you with the little you think you know.

Be a diligent student of the word of God in order to resist the devil in his terrain. Remember that the wilderness is a jungle; it is the abode of a lot of demons. In the wilderness, you need to be prepared for battle. It is not a controlled garden. There is a great difference between the garden and a wilderness. Things grow wildly in the wilderness. You need to take the right decisions based on the word of God. The word of God will enable you take valid decisions that are in line with God’s purposive will for your destiny. That is one of the things that the word of God does. You can’t miss it if you build on the word of God. True faith is acting upon the word of God. The Bible says “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Faith makes you an overcomer. Faith does not make things easy but it makes things possible. Mark 9:23 says, “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Kill unbelief if you want to make it to the Promised Land. This is because no doubter can get there.

Pray –

  • Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the generous provisions you have made for my comprehensive success here and hereafter. Grant me grace to always celebrate your word and be led by your spirit in all my undertakings in Jesus’ name. Amen.
