FREEDOM FROM LUST V

Before any sin is committed, it passes through three stages: Conception, Incubation, and Delivery.

2. Incubation.
At this stage, the mind becomes the CPU (the central processing unit). The signal you received with your eyes (or any of the other senses) is sent to the central processing unit which is the mind. The mind immediately generates an output which is sent to the will. Your will is your decision self. Your mind is your thinking self. Your emotion is your feeling self. The best time to abort sin is at the conception stage. A sin you allow to get into the incubation stage can still be aborted but it will be with “a lot of bleeding”. Once it gets to the will, it is as good as done. That is why Jesus said that whosoever looks lustfully at a woman has already committed sin (Matt.5:28).

3. Delivery.
At this stage, it is already too late. There is no turning back.

The Bible tells us to escape from the corruption that is in the world. You are the one who will do the escape; flee from every appearance of evil. Don’t frolic thinking that you have what it takes to surmount the temptation. You need to be very careful of what your heart pants after because it is what your heart pants or lusts after that the devil will use to tempt you. The only thing you are allowed to thirst or pant after is God – panting after heaven, fixing your affection on the things that are above. By so doing, you will have victory over lust.

2 Pet. 1:3-4 says, “According to his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” The seed that produces corruption is lust. As a young lady who is yet to get married, please take note that the only man you can trust is the one who has the fear of God in him. As a bachelor, know that the only woman you can trust is the one who has the fear of God in her and trembles at his word. I have encountered various types of temptation and the only thing that prevented me from falling was the fear of God; how will my Father feel? The devil knows how to arrange temptation. What saved Joseph from the amorous overtures of Potiphar’s wife? It was the fear of God. “How can I commit this evil before God?” There is a trap called sex trap. Every young man and woman must fight to overcome it.

• Heavenly Father I worship and adore you in Jesus name. Make it impossible for anything that is capable of overwhelming me to come my way in Jesus’ name. Amen.
