FREEDOM FROM LUST VIII

Pornography breeds lust. Fight lust at every stage. Make up your mind to fight lust, crucify it by visiting the cross on daily basis. Make a deliberate effort. Lust clouds judgment like drugs. Anyone who is lustful behaves like one who is possessed because he or she has lost control and is in dire need of help. Lust makes people to contact those whom they have no business contacting. It makes people behave like animals; it makes them to want to satisfy their animalistic instincts.

Lust blindfolds a man and rubs him of his wisdom. This is the reason why you find a man who is married to a beautiful woman go after someone who is not even as pretty as his wife. The devil loves telling lies. True joy is not having what you want; it is appreciating what you have. Godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Tim. 6:6).

2 Sam. 11:1-2, “And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem. And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.”

Be very careful of hangouts. At the time when kings go to battle, David decided to stay back and something propelled him to go to the roof of his house where he saw Bathsheba taking her bath. David saw what he could not control and before long, he committed a great blunder that almost caused him his dynasty. May you always be at the right place at the right time in the mighty name of Jesus.

Whenever you are called and told to ‘come let us confederate’, learn to say NO! Flee from every appearance of evil. Always ask yourself, what is it likely to lead to? What should be my role? Ask questions so that you don’t get entrapped. Questions unlock answers. Wherever you enter, always look for an exit. The situation in the world today is very bad, it is even worse for a girl child who is more vulnerable.

The only thing that can destroy the animalistic tendencies in man is the cross – the crucified life. You should be able to say as Apostle Paul did, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” Gal. 2:20.
