COVENANT OF HEALING AND HEALTH (B)

James 5:14, “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

Mark 6:13, “And they (the disciples of Jesus Christ) cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.”

Luke 9:6, “And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.”

Part of the package that God has given to his Church – members of the body of Christ, is the mandate to heal. Every child of God should be a healing agent in this sick world. One of the provisions that God has made for us to implement healing wherever we go is the anointing oil. Without the anointing oil (dedicated), no home is complete. The anointing has done wonders in this ministry. When you express the word of God practically, literally, pray over the sick, anoint the sick with dedicated and blessed oil, the power of God envelops the individual and the person gets healed. I have seen classical spiritual healings, emotional healings, physical healings and all manner of healings take place as a result of exercise of faith in this direction.

What is faith? Faith is acting on the word of God. God says it. I believe it. That settles it! Once you act upon the word of God, it is faith. Just leave the rest with God. God honours faith. Consistently, I have seen incredible, fantastic healings; full restoration and I believe that the body of Christ is not fully utilizing this mandate which God has given us.

We use the anointing oil but we don’t abuse it. Some people castigate the use of anointing oil while calling people who use it names. Every lie that you propagate will catch up with you when the chips are down. That is why I don’t get involved in religious debates; most of them are born out of pride which should not even be mentioned among the children of God. For anyone who believes that anointing oil is satanic, so be it. Handling a bottle of anointing oil alone turns me into another man; I experience the fire of the presence of God in a spectacular way.

A brother who works in the civil service was preparing for his promotion exams. An evil arrow was fired at him and he suddenly went blind. His wife put a call through to me. I prayed and guided them on what to do, prayed into a bottle of anointing oil and an handkerchief by the leading of the Holy Spirit over the phone. They complied with my instructions; applied the materials and to the glory of God, the man’s eyes opened. On receiving his sight, he came to the fellowship to give his testimony after which we prayed for him that he will get the promotion that he desired. God honoured that prayer to the letter. His case was reviewed in his office and he was promoted to the post of assistant director, to the glory of God.

• Lord, we celebrate your goodness, we celebrate your faithfulness. Help us to receive your word and act on it. Make us to be doers of your word and not debate it. Shield us from those who are capable of polluting our faith. Help us to be people who receive your word as simple as it is and act upon it for our own good in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your faithfulness.
