TRUE FAITH AND TRUE WORSHIP II

When you teach people prosperity without first making them worshippers, you will produce idolaters. Some congregations are even taught how to command money to appear. Where is God in this? You need not be a Christian before the law of sowing and reaping works for you. If you give, you will definitely receive, it is a law, a universal law. You don’t only sow money, there are so many other things you can sow as well. If you practice that sort of Christianity, you have walked away from God.

A lot of people have deviated from the real thing. If you build your faith on things, you will lose the joy of being a true worshipper. You don’t teach a worshipper the fear of God; it comes to him naturally. You don’t teach a worshipper how to give; he cannot be happy until he has given and he gives sacrificially. Every giving must proceed out of love. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son” (John 3:16A).

If you give in order to earn, you are no longer a worshipper, but a gambler. You make your relationship with God transactional. These are the kind of people who flock the Church today. You don’t teach a worshipper holiness; if you are in love with God you will love what he loves and hate what he hates. Hating is part of it. That is the true meaning of holiness. Holiness is not just about loving God, it is going out of your way to please him; to love what he loves and hate what he hates. If God says flee, you flee. The only place a true worshipper can commit sin is where God does not exist – where the spotlight of God cannot pick. May we return to true Christianity in Jesus’ name. The foundation of it is love.

Gal 2:20 says “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Jesus loved and he gave. You don’t give to earn God’s love, you give because you love God.

A lot of preachers are training people to be like them. Many times error is not in absence of truth but in emphasis. A minister must not park but keep upgrading. It was a little lie that changed everything in the garden of Eden – it was in introduction of doubt. Do you want to produce a bottle of poison? One little drop of poison is full poison. If you emphasize one aspect of the body of truth while leaving the rest, you will produce error. You will produce screwed, narrow, parochial Christians and if you are not careful, you will produce idolaters.

Pray –

  • Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me so much, that you gave your very best that I might be saved. Grant me grace to fall in love over and over with you, and never to substitute that love for anything else in Jesus’ name. Amen.
