DOMINION OVER DEATH IV

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Genesis 3:15, KJV

This is the first messianic prophecy. That was the judgment that God passed against the snake after it had carried out its intentions. The snake is the exact replica or representation or manifestation of the leviathan – the devil. If he manifests as a snake, he is still the devil, the accursed one. Every tragedy started as a result of that encounter and the fact that man fell, he yielded his will to the will of the snake in the garden. A lot of people cannot prosper because they are not passionate about anything except crooked things. The poison of the snake in the garden is still very active in them.

Every tragedy in the garden can be traced to one encounter with the snake in the garden. Every tragedy can be traced to an instruction disobeyed. Most of the time, people who are walking in partial disobedience usually think that they are obedient. If God were to be strict with us, how many of us can get anything from him? It is very easy for people to sit down and blame God for their woes. I can tell you categorically that there are more ‘Eves’ in the heart of those who go to Church than the original Eve.

How does disobedience start? It starts with devaluation. You cannot disobey an instruction until you have devalued the instructor or by being too self willed – ‘I have a better opinion’, ‘I can do it better’. To doubt the authenticity, the veracity of the word of God is enough indication that something is seriously wrong with the garden of the heart. Why should Eve entertain a lie from the snake in the first place? Why did she doubt the word of God?

The first lie that the devil opened his mouth to say was to attack the word of God frontally. You will not die, in fact, when you eat it, you will become like God, your eyes will open. Even when God said the moment you eat it, you will die. In other words, all that God has given is not enough, man had to take something in order to become like God. This is the greatest problem of man today. Everywhere you go, you find people walking in partial disobedience which is actually partial obedience and who expect God to endorse their disobedience. Unfortunately, these things are no longer being emphasized enough today. Someone might even tell you that ‘Oh, grace will cover it!’

God does not bless anything that is out of sync with his purpose as enunciated in his word. His blueprint is written in black and white; you obey, you qualify for his blessings, you align. He is not going to force you. Every decision has a price. When man fell, everything fell. If you take a look at the punishment that came as a result of one disobedience, then you will appreciate how God has really helped us in this dispensation.

• Father thank you so much for calling me out of darkness to the marvelous light of your dear son Jesus Christ. Grant me the grace to always align with your word and the promptings of the Holy Spirit
