VIRTUES OF THE CROSS 2D – (UNDERSTANDING WORSHIP I)

Why is the cross the greatest altar ever raised? It was where the greatest offering was done – the quality of the offering. There is nothing superior to this. You need to have this revelation because the battle of the end time is the battle of altars. Believers today are dropping the cross and taking up other things instead. This is serious error. There is a group right now propagating error telling people not to attend any Church – just stay on your own and pray. This is in direct contravention of the word of God which says that you should not forsake the gathering of the brethren (Heb. 10:25). 

This is satan’s package. How can you contravene God’s word and yet claim to be worshipping him? You are worshipping God on the altar of baal. This is error of the highest order. Error is dangerous. “A little leaven (a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers) leavens the whole batch (it perverts the concept of faith and misleads the Church” (Gal. 5:9 Amp.). 

It was the truth side of love that was attacked in Eden. What is truth? John 17:17, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth”. If you are a worshipper, you can go to God your Father like a weaned child and ask him for guidance.

Peter allowed himself to be manipulated by the snake in spite of having been with Jesus. The snake attacks your destiny. The purpose for which you were made is your destiny and that is what the snake attacks. The snake spoke through Peter but Jesus rebuked it in Matt 16:23 by saying “get thee behind me, satan!” If the snake could manipulate Peter, he can do same to anyone. Be careful. Never you surrender your will to the will of a leader who is not a worshipper, he is capable of leading you astray. 

What God has revealed in his word, don’t allow anyone mislead you though visions, don’t even make it a point of prayer because God cannot violate his will in order to do your will. A lot of prayers that should have been expressions of wisdom are now reduced to expressions of foolishness. What is the problem? Lack of understanding of worship! If you know who God is, you won’t approach him to guide you on an issue when you have already made up your mind on what to do. 

There is lack of understanding of the essence of our devotion; a lot of people are raising disciples unto themselves and not unto Jesus. Some people have their devotion more to their local denomination than to Jesus. This is error. Jesus didn’t die for any local denomination; Jesus died for your soul. The greatest gift that God gave to man is his Son. We are redeemed not with perishable things like silver and gold. We were redeemed with the precious, sinless immaculate blood of Jesus (1 Pet. 1:18-19).

• Heavenly Father thank you for your greatest gift to mankind, Jesus Christ. Grant me the grace to worship you in spirit and truth all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
