BE A GOD CHASER 3B – FACTS ABOUT WHAT YOU CHASE II

The system of the world is designed in such a way as to make people pursue vanity and miss God. The wisest, richest and most influential man that ever lived said,

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter; Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil”.
Eccl. 12:13-14. KJV

Whenever Solomon came under the sun, he beheld vanity. So, it makes sense to move up, get our affections right and connect properly.

The greatest success factor remains your God connection, never mind what the world calls success. If you miss God, you cannot be said to be truly successful. It is very easy to use God to chase money. Only the best is good enough for God. May we be people who prioritize God above anything else in the name of Jesus.

The greatest error is to place money above God and it is very easy to do so. It is the weakest point of the prosperity message; give me your gold and I will make you a god. It is not new though, it started in the days of Aaron. We were not redeemed by perishable things such as silver and gold, we are redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Great things in life are priceless.

Nobody can reward a kingdom service. We do not serve a God who does not reward diligence. However, the first thing we must have to get right is our focus. Are you a God chaser?

“When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God; And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord. And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep”.
Acts 7:54-60, KJV

When Stephen was being stoned to death, he looked up because he was a God chaser. And it was because he looked up that he saw the glory of God. Where you fix your gaze is where you receive from. It was because he saw the glory of God that he was able to pray the right prayer at the point of death.

He was able to go through that hour of great anguish and persecution because his focus was right. He could have spoken out of rage, he could have called down the fire of God to consume his persecutors but instead he prayed for them. Stephen displayed the highest level of spiritual maturity here. If he had been vindictive, Saul who later became Paul would have been judged with the people.

Pray –
  • Everlasting and most merciful Father, I worship and adore you. In all circumstances, grant me the grace to remain focused and connected to you in Jesus’ name.
