Facts about what you chase

1. Whatever you chase or pursue will always be ahead of you.
That is why it is very wrong to chase lower things. May God enable you to elevate your pursuits. Since what you chase will always be ahead of you, why not chase the one who is in the highest? What lower things you are holding onto are the things that will make you not to ascend.

2. What you chase is actually what you love.
No matter how you try to cover it, no matter how you pretend. Love is not something you feel and you will not be passionate about. That is why Jesus said you cannot serve God and mammon (Matt.6:24). Every worshipper of mammon is an idolater. Whatever you place side by side God in your heart has become your god. This is one of the weaknesses of the prosperity message, give me your gold and I will make you a god. It violates the word of God.

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all (not some) thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment”.

Matthew 22:37-38, KJV

God is not a fifty-fifty God, he is a one hundred percent God. This is not a cheap command. If you are not a God chaser, you will settle for lower things.

3. What you chase is what you really worship.
‘Worthship’ is placement of value. The system of the world today is skewed in favour of pursuit of money because that is the god of the world. The system of the world makes people chase money and pursue it into the grave. If you chase gold, you will miss God. If you chase God, you will have gold as dust.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”. 

Matthew 6:33, KJV

If you want the best from God, don’t chase lower things. The highest level of prayer is spiritual positioning. If you want the glory of God to shine, position yourself properly. The beginning of positioning is looking up. It was because Stephen positioned himself properly that he was able to see the right thing (Acts 7:54-59).

The reason why many marriages are under pressure today is because the man is not facing the right direction. A Sister once asked me a question, “should I submit to a man who is not going in the right direction?” A lot of things have gone wrong in the world today. Some people steal from you and still have the audacity to ask you to go to court. They believe that everyone has a price. That is why we must not reduce this race to money. You cannot say no to what has become your god. You must have dominion over money. You cannot have what you worship; what you worship has you. Even if it is in your pocket, it is still your god. Anyone who has made money his god is a dangerous person.

4. What you worship announces you.
What you worship will announce you; you don’t really need titles. What you make your god is your master for life.
