QUALITIES OF THOSE WHO CHASE GOD

3. God chasers fear God.
They are wise; the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). The greatest wisdom is the wisdom of God. This fear is not the perverted fear but the reverential fear of God in their heart. They tremble at God’s word. They respect God’s word. You cannot obey the instructions of the one you have devalued. The reason why some teams lose is that they refused to play according to the instructions of their coach. The instructions you obey determine the future you create. A lot of people superimpose their will on the will of God and expect God to endorse their actions. Many of the people who go to Church today are so full of self that there is no space for God in them. God cannot help anybody who is full of self. Pride is the idolatry of self, may no trace of it be found in you in the name of Jesus Christ. The devil gave man a false sense of identity in the Garden of Eden; a lot of people are “wannabe”. It is only at the cross that this can be destroyed and flesh will be crucified. Jesus said,

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent”. 

John 17:3, KJV

That is life. Eternal life starts from now, you don’t die to inherit it.

The spirit that leads you to the market is the spirit that will lead you home; if it is not the Holy Spirit, I can tell you where it will end. We need to be careful. People are raising what God expects them to erase and they keep wondering why they are not being blessed. What is it that God is asking you to erase so that he can lift and establish you? Reverential fear of God will help you to be complete in obedience. It will help you to respect the word of God. In Luke 5:5-6, Peter was an expert fisherman; he did all he knew to do but caught nothing. Jesus gave him an instruction on what to do and he said ‘at thy word’, he acted accordingly and got a net breaking miracle. May we be people who are addicted to the word of God. The word of God is the compendium of life; it is the compass that will guarantee your comprehensive success as you sail through life. What a wonderful privilege to align with the will of God as revealed in his word. The word of God is the manufacturer’s manual that will help you to destroy the evil seal of Lucifer. It is the word that will help you walk in dominion over lust. If you want to have dominion over the world, over this age, over flesh, over self, over satan, over death, over disease, over hell, the comprehensive dominion can only be through the word of God; “it is written”. How much of it do you download into your system daily? You need to feed the inner man; there is no running away from it because it is the muscle you develop that will help you lift weights. There are spiritual weights to be lifted.

Pray –

• Lord, please help me. Help me never to display what you expect me to hide in the name of Jesus Christ. Help me never to raise what you expect me to erase. Help me never to spare what you expect me to raze by fire.
• Grant me the grace to be too hot to touch. Lord, how I need the fire of your presence. Grant me the grace to tremble at your word.
• Let the blessings that follow them that fear you rest upon my life forever in Jesus’ name.
