THE DOVE IN THE CLEFTS OF THE ROCK II

“O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.”
Song of Solomon 2:14, KJV

This is an exclamation of adoration. How I wish that every preacher will catch this revelation, there will be revival all over the world. If the right messages are preached, if the right models are put out there, there will be revival.

The devil has done a bad job. There are very many terrible substitutions that the devil has made in the Church that is producing weak Christians; making the Church more and more irrelevant. The devil is not afraid of gathering of people who speak in tongues and go.

There are too many erroneous theologies out there. Error is poison. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump (Gal. 5:9). The scripture in Songs of Solomon 2:14 says, O my Dove who art in the clefts of the rock, not O my eagle. What an exclamation of love! What an exclamation of adoration by the eternal bridegroom. Jesus is our eternal bridegroom. He is the rock. The dove has matured to learn to dwell in the clefts of the rock. That is Christian maturity. It is not in the size of the cathedral.

Why the dove? When Jesus came out of the water after his baptism, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended like a dove upon him. Remember that the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus “like a dove”. After the flood, Noah released a dove as an agent of restoration. The dove possesses all the qualities that a child of God should have. All the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit can be found in the dove. There is none in an eagle or a lion.

In Matt. 11:29, Jesus says,

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
Matthew 11:29, KJV

There is no meekness in a lion or an eagle. Lions are self willed. Meekness is not synonymous with weakness. That is the mistake so many people make. Meekness is so much power under the control of the Holy Spirit. That is the kind of person that the devil fears. He does not fear a lion because you cannot be more lion-like than him. The Bible compares the devil to a roaring lion looking for whom to devour (1 Pet. 5:8). Motivational preachers always associate eagles with strength; you don’t need the strength that the Holy Spirit cannot give you because that strength will destroy you. The strength that the Holy Spirit cannot give you, you don’t need!

“And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”
1 Corinthians 10:4, KJV

Jesus is the Rock.

“Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
Exodus 17:6, KJV

We need to learn to receive Jesus Christ and enthrone him.

TO BE CONTINUED.
