7. Dominion through the cross of Christ.

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 

1 John 3:8, KJV

It is the manifestation of the son of God that destroys the works of the devil. You are a programmed overcomer because of the finished work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In heaven, he won the battle. On the cross, he won the battle. In the grave, he won the battle and he has given us the victory. God’s purpose in creation was for man to have dominion but man lost it when he handed over dominion to the devil in the Garden of Eden. But on the cross, God restored dominion to man through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You should be able to articulate this; apply the victory of the cross. Appropriate the victory of the cross of Christ as your victory. Use that power to silence the voice of the adversary in every area of your life when he comes as an accuser. Activate the speaking ministry of the blood of Jesus. If he comes to rubbish your testimony with defilement, activate the cleansing ministry of the blood of Jesus.

Nothing cleanses like the blood. Psa. 110:1-7 says,

“The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies … He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.” 

Psalm 110:1-7, KJV

We are supposed to be seated at the right hand side of God; strategically positioned at the very right hand of God, the position of authority, the position of comprehensive dominion. We have dominion over sin, over darkness, self, satan, sickness, disease, death, hell, poverty, scarcity and lack. You have dominion over the accuser of the brethren, dominion over anything that mocks the image and glory of God in your life. That is the dominion God has restored through the finished work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The blood does not avail unless it is applied. Our Father has done everything he needs to do, there is nothing more to add. You have the word of God to direct you. God gave you a will. The Bible says submit yourself unto God then resist the devil and he will flee from you. It is your responsibility to resist the devil.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” 

Revelations 12:11, KJV

God has made us programmed overcomers. There is the overcoming dimension of the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Activate it and overcome anything that the adversary brings your way.
