RETURN TO THE ALMIGHTY 4B
God is a teacher. The Holy Spirit is a teacher. Jesus is a great teacher.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”Matthew11:28-30, KJV
The greatest thing you can learn is to learn to be like Christ. You need to come to the realization that the greatest you can ever be is to be like Jesus Christ who is the express image of the Father.
After God created the universe, on the sixth day of creation after creating a perfect environment, he decided to create man. The creation of man was not by an executive legislation, it was by a counsel. God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness. God created a perfect man and placed him in a perfect environment and gave him only one command. A perfect man in a perfect environment with one command! Man failed, he couldn’t keep one commandment. If a perfect man in a perfect environment could not keep one law, how can an imperfect man in an imperfect environment keep ten?
We need to see the wisdom of God from that dimension in order to appreciate what God has done for us, to celebrate what he has given us and to fall in love over and over again with him. If you don’t know how to celebrate what you have, it will take a walk and you will do the chasing. It was because Adam took God for granted that he allowed a snake into the Garden. Where was Adam when the snake entered and engaged in an unholy discussion with Eve? Man fell and God had to dig deep into his wisdom blood to send his Son still to make man like him.
Remember that the greatest desire, the anointed Cherub was to be like God. The worshipper wanted to be worshipped. Why? Until you discover how that happened, you might think that things just happened. At least we know who deceived Adam, but who deceived Lucifer? His heart deceived him. Everything he said he said in his heart. You must be careful what you say in your heart. The heart is a garden that you need to guard with all diligence.
Any time you entertain a snake in any garden, whether in the garden of the heart or in a physical garden or in your field of endeavour or in your family or even in the Church, there is danger lurking. Every romance with the snake produces tragedy. Every tragedy in life is traceable to one instruction disobeyed. When people toy with disobedience, they end up cheating themselves. Every instruction that God gives is a seed of miracle waiting to happen. When God says, Come, it is a seed. That miracle will not happen until you obey.
