THE END TIME SERIES – REVELATION OF THE ANTICHRIST 1C
Some Truths about the Antichrist
- The spirit of the antichrist has been in the world since the early Church but its manifestation as a person will soon happen.
1 John 2:18, 22. “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.” This denial is the bedrock of the children of the bondwoman. They do not argue about the person of Jesus, but they claim that he is not the Son of God. According to their doctrine, God cannot beget and cannot be begotten. ‘Anti’ means that which opposes, that which challenges. It is a very fast growing religion. 2 John 1:7, “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” Every deceiver is an antichrist. Anyone without the spirit of truth is an antichrist. Jesus Christ is truth. John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” Jesus is the incarnate word; the word that was made flesh. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1. If you are not serving the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you are serving the wrong God. Jesus Christ is the second person in the trinity – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The antichrist is the second person of the satanic trinity – satan, the antichrist and the false prophet. - The antichrist as a person is the personification of man’s enmity and rebellion against God as controlled by satan.
He will speak pompous words against God. He will blaspheme God and have no regard for him. Dan. 11:37, “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.” 2 Thes. 2:4, “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” Rev. 13:6, “And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.” The antichrist is going to blaspheme. Remember that his master, the devil, had always wanted to be worshipped; ‘I will be like the most high, I will exalt myself above the throne’. That is what he is going to play out and he is going to have a lot of power and many will worship him. The spirit of the antichrist is seriously at work in the world today; the devil has positioned his people all over the place. It is not enough to say that you are a child of God, you need to know your God so that you don’t get deceived. - He will be satan personified just as Christ is God personified.
Rev. 13:2, “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” The son of satan is satan. John 14:7-11, “If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hast seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very work’s sake.” This passage is emphasizing that just as Jesus Christ is one hundred percent personification of the Father, so the antichrist will be the one hundred percent personification of satan. He will have power and authority to do and undo because the dragon has given him power.
