EASTER,  SUNDAY SERVICE

LIVING IN THE POWER OF THE RISEN LORD I

The coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is sooner that we expect. May it not take us unawares in the name of Jesus. May we always be expectant and may we live ready. Don’t get carried away by the deceitfulness of riches and by the things that people are chasing down here. True success is not in accumulating wealth that you cannot use where we are going. I keep asking this rhetorical question; if heaven is actually where we are going, why do we spend over ninety percent of our time accumulating things we will never need over there? Have you ever thought about it? When you go to Church, instead of the Church to prepare you for the real thing, they would rather prepare you for prosperity; prosperity that is centred around finance – they teach the laws of success (success that is defined in terms of buying private jets and building bigger cathedrals!) How many private jets do you need in heaven? How many will you take to heaven?

I witnessed the Christianity of the seventies and early eighties and when I compare this to the Christianity of the nineties and now, I know that there is a very big departure from the real thing that was first delivered to the Church. May the Lord help us in Jesus name.

One of the reasons why Jesus came was to remove every unsatisfactoriness of things in your life. So, we can say that Jesus came to remove ‘noise’ so that we can hear the Father clearly. The best description of noise is from the perspective of electrical engineers, to them, noise is an unwanted frequency. Until you remove noise, you cannot hear his voice. Every one you come across is following an instruction; there is a voice whispering to him. That voice is a spirit. It is the spirit that leads you through life that will lead you home. If it is not the Holy Spirit, forget heaven because that spirit will lead you astray.
