BEWARE OF THE ORNAMENTS OF DEFILEMENT IX
A lot of cathedrals are built with ornaments of defilement. But for the intervention of God, maybe I would have fallen prey. Some time ago a very tall man walked into my office with a proposal. He wanted us to build a cathedral which he wanted to sponsor and then he would become the Chairman of the board and be in charge. I asked for his name and address after which he left. He called me first thing the next morning and introduced himself as my ‘covenant partner’. I gave him an appointment to come in a week’s time. He took me unawares the first time but I decided to prepare for his second visit. I did a search on him before then and discovered that he was a very prominent fraudster, a kingpin with networks all over the place. He had 26 cars in his garage!
When he came back I started telling him about what God has been doing in the ministry even before he could take a seat giving him testimonies of God’s faithfulness. He could not sit down. Thereafter, he left and that was the end of that evil proposal. You must have testimonies, you must have credible testimonies in Jesus name.
Take note of the following: –
- The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination. Prov. 15:8, “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight”.
- The prosperity of fools shall destroy them, Prov. 1:32.
- The blessing of the Lord maketh rich, it addeth no sorrow, Prov. 10:22.
- Eccl. 9:8, “Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment”. This scripture is not referring to white garment but purity. The oil is the oil of his presence; it signifies the presence of the Holy Spirit.
- “Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer”, Prov. 25:4.
- 1 Thess. 5:22, “Abstain from all appearance of evil”.
- Psalm 45:6-8, “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the scepter of thy kingdom is a right scepter. Thou lovest righteousness and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad”.
A lot of people want the anointing but they don’t know what it takes. Anointing cannot flow through an unclean vessel. The reason why we are not witnessing a lot of miracles today is because there is too much defilement. I don’t celebrate what God hates. Do you hate iniquity? May God help you to love what he loves and to hate what he hates in Jesus name.
