THE BATTLE OF RODS – THE ROD OF THE RIGHTEOUS 2A (LIFT UP THE ROD)

Rod, in this context refers to a symbol of authority, a symbol of dominion, a symbol of victory, a symbol of power. A lot of people are familiar with the rod of the wicked but not with the rod of the righteous. According to the law of recognition, what you don’t recognize cannot really bless you. You can have everything it takes for you to become a multimillionaire and still remain poor.

One of the things that will shock many people when we get to heaven is the quantity of unutilized potentials – how much we could have done with what we had than we recognized. That will form one of the regrets. It is important to recognize that God has endowed us with so much that we need to operate with. This is one of the things that man acquired in Eden when he fell. Man lost the ability to choose right. Man also lost identity. A lot of people have issues with identity.

It is only in Christ that you can recover that which was lost in Eden. The first Adam missed it and messed up. The second Adam fixed it and gave us a message. In him, through him, we shall do valiantly as we remain connected. A very beautiful song says, “May I forever abide in Christ. May I always remember that he owns me. May I always repose confidence in him and not in any other thing but him. May I cast away double mindedness.” What a wonderful song! Ever so relevant! Never losing its potency. Ever so fresh!

Exo. 14:16, “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” The Living Bible says, “use your rod”. If you have the rod and don’t use it, it will not avail. That is one thing with authority. Authority is useless if it is not enforced, this is because authority is nothing but delegated power. When power is delegated, it is not really yours. It is the power of the one who delegates it. The power we are referring to here is the greatest power in the whole universe. The One who has given us the rod to use is the One who spoke the world into existence; the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent One. If you use the rod, your life will never remain ordinary again.

One of the greatest revelations about the rod is that the rod is nothing but the word of God. Jer. 1:11-14 says, “Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. And the word of the LORD the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north. Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.” Anything you see outside the word of God cannot be good. The Lord said, I will hasten my word to perform it; the One who gave the word will back it up. The power that is in the word of God is the power of God.

Pray
Dear Heavenly Father I thank you for giving me your word. Grant me the grace to always align every facet of my life with your word for my benefit and for the benefit of others in Jesus name. Amen.
