OPERATION 18:18,  SUNDAY SERVICE

CELEBRATING THE LORD ON HIGH I

There are so many people today roaming about aimlessly who don’t have a purpose, they don’t know what they are born to do. They are living a purposeless life, they don’t know the way, they have no bearing, they are just existing; just surviving. Think of a life without Christ. Think of life without a purpose. Think of life without a destination. Think of a journey without a destination. But that is the way it is for many who have not found the way.

Meanwhile some people think that they are in the way but they are not. The way they are following will ultimately lead them to hell. But they keep thinking that they are doing the right thing and they are so religious about it and are ready to kill if you try to challenge them. But God has given us the right thing. He has shown us the way. Don’t take it for granted. I sought to know the truth for about five years; I actually devoted myself to the search for truth and read a lot of books until Jesus appeared to me and handed the Bible over to me. I screamed, ‘so you are the truth that I have been searching for!’ I started having life changing encounters thereafter.

I had read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation but as an academic book, no depth. I got into arguments and started wondering how it is possible for only those who follow Jesus to make it to heaven. I have met some very good people who never went to Church, they were traditionalists. I knew a woman who was very good and honest and who influenced my life a lot. I rationalized that such people should make heaven. But when eventually I came face to face with reality that there is no other way, I had a rethink.

Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life, no one cometh unto the Father except by me (John 14:6). A very categorical statement; you either accept Jesus and make it to heaven or embark on a journey to nowhere like I did for five years until I came to the end of the journey, knelt down in my small room back then and repented. That was in 1985. I rededicated my life to Christ. From that point, I took my walk with God seriously. When I started having divine encounters, every doubt dissolved and disappeared.

I decided to go and preach to that woman but her response was that she would rather follow the one she knows. At a very good old age when she was about to die she started having encounters with evil spirits.
