CELEBRATING THE LORD ON HIGH II
It is the spirit that you submit to in this life that will eventually lead you home. If it is not the Holy Spirit, that spirit cannot take you to heaven. The only spirit that guarantees that you make it to heaven is the Holy Spirit. That is why we need to be careful because many people in the Church are not in the Lord, they are not in Christ. I have met people who are not born again but who have wonderful hearts; some of them even worked with me. They had the fear of God more than some people in the Church.
Nobody can make heaven through self righteousness. Righteousness is a gift from God and you receive it. It is right standing relationship with God. Who is our righteousness? Jesus Christ! It is his righteousness that is imputed to us that qualifies us to be sons. It is his finished work on the cross that sanctifies us. The blood of Jesus is one of the most powerful mysteries in the whole universe. It is the ticket for heaven. The finished work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on the cross is what qualifies us. Your self righteousness is like filthy rags (Isa. 64:6). That is why by and large salvation is a gift according to Eph. 2:8-9. We are saved by grace. It is not of works lest any man should boast. We don’t deserve it. But when God looks at the righteousness of his Son, Jesus Christ and you connect to that and you receive it and you believe in that finished work, there will be what is called impartation of his righteousness.
There is imparted sanctification, there is imputed sanctification. God inputs the righteousness of Christ and you have to come to the realization that we are the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21). Without him, we are nothing. This should make you fall in love with God the more, it should draw you closer to him and humble you.
