CELEBRATING THE LORD ON HIGH III

True grace will lead you to live right. Don’t extend grace to be licence to live anyhow which is the error I noticed in the way that people are presenting grace today.

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”

Titus 2:11-15, KJV

Grace is a teacher. Grace will make you wise. Grace will teach you to live right. Grace has been taken out of context in many teachings to being licence to live anyhow. The grace that does not teach you to live right is not true grace. In fact, it will lead to disgrace. One day as I put on the television, I heard a very charismatic preacher say that Christianity is not right living, it is right believing! If you believe this, you will end up in hell. It looks so harmless.

The falsity in that statement is that even demons believe and they tremble. If your belief is not producing right living, I am not sure that what you believe is right. There are so many errors being spewed out there from places where you least expect it. Many of these errors are like poison; a little leaven leaveneth the whole.

True grace will empower you to live right. Grace that does not teach you to deny ungodliness is not the right grace. It will ultimately lead to disgrace. Anywhere you find worldly lust and preaching of grace, check it, it is an aberration. True grace will teach you to live soberly not anyhow. The Bible is not an anyhow book written by an anyhow God. Our God is not an anyhow God. He is a God of holiness. He is a God of righteousness. He is a God of wisdom. He is a God of truth. He is the of character. This is one of the reasons why it is difficult to do business with some people in the Church today. This is why lying means nothing to some people who go to Church. This is why many cannot even keep the marriage covenant; they marry, divorce and re-marry.

If your Church going does not produce Christian character, stop going there. You can see from the above scripture how dangerous that postulation is and why it produces a holy anger in me. There are so many people propagating error and magnifying it. The unfortunate thing is that error goes viral very easily. This is one of the reasons why the Church is fast losing relevance. This scripture leads us to the cross. It goes beyond the cross to living right, to transforming lives, to right destination.
