CELEBRATING THE LORD ON HIGH 2C
This is a time of serious introspection. Are you satisfied with your present level of Christianity? Are you satisfied with the progress you are making? If God should look down upon you, will he say, this is my beloved son? Will his face beam with smile? Only one error is required to make you find yourself at the other side; believing one lie is all it takes to start sinking.
Our righteousness is like filthy rags before God (Isa. 64:6). Self righteousness cannot take you there. The only righteousness that guarantees your making heaven is the righteousness of Jesus Christ which is a gift. That is why Matt. 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Jesus said you should seek first the kingdom of God and then his righteousness so that other things may be added. Jesus said seek ye first the kingdom of God. If you remove the ‘first’ in the sentence, you have missed it. What Jesus is emphasizing here is priority. What is your priority? That is the most important thing in your life.
A lot of people seek God; some seek for God in wrong places, some seek him as an addendum not as numero uno. They miss it! Many of the people who go to Church today fall into this category. They go to Church but they are not God seekers, they are not primary God seekers, they are looking for a God to serve them and not a God to worship. In the garden of their heart, they have it all missed up. God is occupying the last place in their hearts.
No grumbler can make it to the promised land; none of the children of Israel who rebelled against God made it to the promised land. Every self seeker is a great loser. God is not a God of crowd; those who violate his principles have no future. We must follow God according to his terms not according to our own terms. “Seek ye first”! Some are seeking first the kingdom of money and its unrighteousness, they reverse the order.
Change the centre of gravity of your life from self to God if heaven is your destination. Nobody ever stumbles into heaven by chance. They do it assiduously, step by step. Nobody makes it by their self righteousness. You will make it by accepting the gift of Christ’s righteousness. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21). Our ticket for the rapture is what Christ did for us on the cross. When we continue to believe in him, connect with him and walk with him, and be doers of his word, living his word, Christ is formed in us. The Holy Spirit indwells us and he becomes our guide.
The Holy Spirit does not guide the self willed. Every grumbler is a great loser. What you chase determines where you end. What you chase determines the direction of your life. What you chase determines the spirit that you unleash and it is the spirit that guides you through life that will ultimately take you home. If it is not the Holy Ghost, forget heaven. If you are not ready to partner with the Holy Spirit which Holy Ghost Fellowship is all about, you have missed it. If you follow a leader who has derailed, you are heading in the wrong direction.
