RESOUNDING VICTORY

”Praise him who saved his people from the power of mighty kings, for his loving kindness continues forever, and killed famous kings who were their enemies, for his loving – kindness to Israel continues forever.  Sihon king of Amorites – for God’s loving – kindness to Israel continues forever – and Og, king of Bashan – for his loving – kindness to Israel continues forever.” (Psalm 136:17-20 TLB)

For the children of Israel to enter the promised land from Egypt, they had to contend with several oppositions.  Possession is by contention.  God gave them victories on several fronts. Anytime this account is retold, two men stood out – Sihon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan. For many years the children of Israel continued to recount their victories over these kings.  Og is mentioned in twenty- two verses throughout the old testament while Sihon is referred to in thirty-four verses.

These two kings were so important because they symbolized a time when Israel obeyed the Lord completely, as a result of which God gave them overwhelming victory. (see Numbers 21:23-35)

After entering the Promised Land, the children of Israel often compromised and adapted the lifestyles of the people around them.  Many tribes never fully conquered the territory they were given. They were satisfied with partial victories and settled for less than what God intended for them.  Consequently, Israel failed to achieve the lasting victory and abundance God intended for them.

God wants you to have full victory and complete blessing. This can be accessed through Christ, according to Romans 8:37 TLB:

”but despite all this, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us enough to die for us.”

Through Christ you can have overwhelming victory over stubborn challenges. Never be satisfied with partial victory or anything less than God’s best for you. You can enjoy the fullness of God’s blessings and fulfillment of of His promises.

Don’t surrender to a defeatist  attitude. Trust God for complete victory in every area of your life. Strive to be complete in obedience to God’s word and the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Resounding victory is guaranteed wherever God is enthroned.

If you have not given your life to Jesus Christ, do not hesitate anymore. Say the simple prayer below:

Dear Father, I worship you. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. Please have mercy on me and forgive all my sins. Jesus Christ, Son of the living God I unreservedly surrender my life to you. I confess that you died and rose from the dead for me. Please be my Lord and personal saviour, and grant me the grace to live for you all the days of my life. Thank you so much Lord Jesus, I proclaim I am born again. Amen

P R A Y E R

Heavenly Father, I worship you. I thank you for the provisions you have made for my comprehensive victory. I ask you for grace to walk hand in hand with you for your purpose to be established in every facet of my life. I ask you to grant me resounding victories over the forces arrayed against your purpose for my life. I proclaim that through Christ I am more than a conqueror. Amen
